Improvement Services
Powered by access to exclusive, pediatric-specific data and driven by the commitment of 43 children’s hospitals to improving quality and
enhancing performance, CHCA Owner Hospitals are working together to deliver safe, effective, efficient care.
Not only have they developed programs and services that help Owner Hospitals improve locally, but with
CHCA research and development initiatives, CHCA is positioning its Owner Hospitals nationally to lead how
pediatric care is measured for quality and reimbursement.

CHCA Group Purchasing Services
The medical needs of children are substantially different from those of adults. To meet those needs,
children’s hospitals must have access to medical products and services designed and manufactured to
meet the unique needs of children.
CHCA’s Group Purchasing Services division works closely with Owner Hospitals to return cost savings through a
highly effective group-purchasing program, with strict adherence to the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association
(HIGPA) Code of Conduct. CHCA’s goal is to address the areas of supply chain management that deliver
children’s hospitals cost reduction opportunities with the greatest access to specialized pediatric products.

CHCA Insurance Services
The CHCA Insurance Program evaluates and negotiates insurance services to ensure members have access to the most stable coverage in their market. CHCA works closely with Owner Hospitals to select a range of insurance partners with technologies and services to meet specific needs. CHCA also works individually with human resources and risk management executives to provide side-by-side comparisons of policies to help hospitals sort through the jargon and make real comparisons. |

CHEX Knowledge Exchange
Thousands of pediatric hospital staff members are now obtaining the training and information they need easily and on demand.
Child Health Corporation of America created CHEX to provide participating hospitals with learning and development solutions
that advance individual and organizational performance. With CHEX, hospital leaders get turnkey solutions including a
learning management system and a range of support services designed to integrate training and development with the core
business needs of children's hospitals.
